Space42 and Viasat Partner for Global 5G Non-Terrestrial Network

 UAE-based Space42 and Viasat Inc. have signed an MoU to develop a shared 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) infrastructure. The multi-orbit initiative will leverage L-band, S-band, and terrestrial spectrum to support direct-to-device (D2D) satellite communications, narrowband IoT, and next-generation mobile satellite services (MSS). With projected D2D market growth to $50 billion by 2032, the partnership aims to create an open, standards-based architecture compliant with 3GPP guidelines, enabling seamless global roaming and bridging connectivity gaps in remote regions.
