The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its first updated global guidelines for managing dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever since 2016. The revisions incorporate AI-driven surveillance protocols, recommending real-time mosquito population tracking via IoT sensors and predictive models to forecast outbreak hotspots. Additionally, the guidelines outline standardized fluid replacement therapies for severe dengue and warn against non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in high-risk cases. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized the need for “data-driven response systems” to combat climate-driven arbovirus spread.
